claude bernier
was born in anjou (france). after studying for 5 years at the school of
fine arts in angers (maine and loire) she launched herself into many
diverse types of artwork including animated drawings and tapestry art.
after that she devoted herself entirely to drawing, water colours, and
oil painting, at first in gabon, where she stayed for sometime, then in
touraine and next in the pretty little town of tourettes sur loup, near
st paul de vence, with a short time in boston in the united states.
she lived in portugal on the algarve, where she benefits from the
particular lighting and colours of the area.
there, she opened a gallery in the historic town of silves , near the
castle , where you can see her paintings and drawings.
she's now back to france where she shows here painting in her
new gallery in calvisson (gard).
her art is the art of analysis and imagination. sometimes she finds
inspiration from the masters of oriental art, which she may also
transpose into her own personal world of magnificent and magical scenes
in a fairy like world.
her drawings are created with great perfection and are carried out with
a classical technique, but giving an appearance of modernity which is
especially detailed, with a touch of sadness (melancholy).
a great strength of expression is found in her works impressed with
warm and harmonious colours.
several techniques enliven her artistic creativity. she paints
sensations and feelings with vivid and strong ideas with great
diversity.. some of her works are figurative , others are symbolic and
abstract. she takes us into magic places where birds reach for the
golden sun.
her figures are light and long limbed, their hands carry us in a
whirlwind of melody.
visitors will appreciate her talent and sincerity.
she identifies herself perfectly with this quote of tahar ben jelloun
“I do not tell stories only to spend time, stories come to me, live in
me and transform me.“
the stories of claude bernier are essentially an understanding of life,
in its different forms and of our existence.
everything is poetry and happiness as seen through our eyes.
